Committed to the environment

Mail Marketing Works is committed to the environment and our support of Greenfleet demonstrates this. Greenfleet is a not-for-profit organisation whose program provides a simple way to reduce our impact on the environment. Greenfleet plant native trees on our behalf. These trees will help to create a forest, and as they grow will absorb the greenhouse gases that our cars produce.

Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted almost three million trees on behalf of Australian motorists and businesses. These trees will form permanent forests and will create an investment in rural Australia for future generations.

 


Our Environmental Policy

As a crucial component of its commitment to outstanding corporate citizenship Mail Marketing Works is committed to the protection of the environment. Continuous improvement of its performance in the reduction of environmental impacts is of paramount importance and is embraced by all employees of Mail Marketing Works. This commitment applies across all business activities covering the supply of Direct Marketing to the Australian marketplace.

As part of this commitment Mail Marketing Works will:

  • Actively market eco-friendly products to its customer base.
  • Promote the re-use and recycling of all consumables wherever possible via external suppliers.
  • Work to prevent pollution by controlling, reducing or eliminating waste discharges to the extent that proven technology allows.
  • Establish programs to measure and achieve performance against agreed environmental targets and objectives. Programs such as, green purchasing and the education of all employees to enable them to conduct day-to-day activities, which maximise protection to the environment.
  • Participate in industry wide initiatives for the protection of the environment led by government or industry associations as deemed appropriate.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish contingency plans to deal with emergencies, which could affect the environment.
  • Educate and communicate regularly with employees, suppliers, contractors and interested third parties to enhance their awareness of environmental issues and initiatives of Mail Marketing Works.
  • Promote Mail Marketing Work’s commitment to the environment via all means possible, including, but not limited to, the World Wide Web.

Energy Efficient and Recycling Programs

Mail Marketing Works has worked hard to install the following programs into its day-to-day activities, which directly affect the environmental footprint within its control;

  • Toner Cartridge Recycling via Cartridge Rescue.
  • Paper Recycling and security destructions via Loumbos Pty Limited.
  • General Waste Recycling via Cleanaway Australia.
  • Pallet Recycling; pallets and printers skids are collected and returned to manufacturers or printers who observe the National Packaging Covenant.
  • Green purchasing of consumables.
  • Financial supporters of Greenfleet Trust Fund. Supporting Greenfleet’s tree planting and carbon bank program.

Future plans

Mail Marketing Works is likely to commence in 2008 programs that can take Green Power directly from the grid including what machinery and IT processes that can utilise low voltage stand by technologies.

We are currently looking for Emulsion Aggregation Toner suppliers that can supply Laser Printers that utilise EA technology and will move toward a replacement strategy at life’s end of current machinery.

Mail Marketing Works will strive toward a zero waste to landfill strategy and will work with clients, suppliers and contractors to ensure these options, where possible, are adapted.
